Implant-Supported Dentures
A secure, comfortable alternative to traditional dentures

What are implant-supported dentures?
Implant-supported dentures are a type of full or partial denture that is stabilized by dental implants. Instead of relying solely on suction or adhesives, the denture “snaps” onto a series of implants surgically placed in your jawbone.
Benefits include:
- A more natural look and feel
- Improved speech and chewing ability
- Enhanced stability—no more slipping or clicking
- Prevention of bone loss and facial sagging
- Greater comfort compared to conventional dentures
They’re especially ideal for lower jaw restorations, but can also be used in the upper jaw (though more implants are typically required for upper placement).

Who is a good candidate?
You may be a great candidate for implant-supported dentures if you:
- Are missing all or most of your teeth
- Want a more secure solution than removable dentures
- Have sufficient jawbone density (or are willing to undergo bone grafting)
- Are in good general health and able to undergo a minor surgical procedure
How long do implant dentures last?
With proper care and regular dental checkups, implant-supported dentures can last many years. The implants themselves often last a lifetime.
To maintain your implant dentures:
- Brush and floss daily (including around the implants)
- Visit your dentist regularly for cleanings and exams
- Avoid using your teeth to open packages or bite hard objects
What to expect
Initial Consultation
Dr. David Hazzouri will examine your mouth, gums, and bone structure using X-rays or scans. He’ll review your goals and recommend the best treatment plan.
Implant Placement
Small titanium posts are surgically placed into your jawbone. These serve as anchors for your new dentures. Healing time may vary depending on your individual needs.
Healing and Osseointegration
Over the next few months, the implants fuse with your bone, a process called osseointegration. Temporary dentures may be worn during this time.
Custom Denture Design
Once healed, impressions are taken to create your custom-fitted denture. You’ll have the opportunity to choose the shape, size, and shade of your new teeth.
Attachment of Denture
The final denture is securely attached to the implants. You’ll leave the office with a stable, natural-looking smile that functions like real teeth.
