Porcelain & Zirconia Crowns
Strong, natural-looking restorations for damaged or weakened teeth

What are dental crowns?
A crown is a custom-made “cap” that covers and protects a damaged or weakened tooth. It helps restore your tooth’s shape, size, strength, and appearance—so you can chew comfortably and smile confidently.
Crowns are especially effective when the root of your tooth is still healthy and intact.
Dr. David may suggest a crown if you need to:
- Repair a cracked, chipped, or weakened tooth
- Cover a tooth that has had a large filling or root canal
- Restore the shape or color of a misshapen or discolored tooth
- Cover a dental implant
- Hold a dental bridge securely in place
What’s the difference between Porcelain & Zirconia crowns
At David Hazzouri Dental, we offer two of the most popular and natural-looking crown materials: Porcelain and Zirconia. Dr. David Hazzouri will help determine the best option based on your needs, bite strength, and aesthetic goals.
Porcelain Crowns
- Beautifully natural appearance
- Ideal for front teeth
- High biocompatibility—gentle on gums and unlikely to cause allergic reactions
- No metal—no grey lines at the gumline
- Excellent color-matching with surrounding teeth
Zirconia Crowns
- Extra strong and durable—perfect for molars or patients who grind their teeth
- Translucent for a natural look, especially in newer-generation zirconia materials
- More resistant to chipping than porcelain alone
- Can often be milled and placed in one visit using advanced CAD/CAM technology
What’s the process for getting a Crown?
Every crown starts with a thorough examination to ensure it’s the right treatment. If a crown is recommended, here’s what you can expect:
Consultation & prep
- Local anesthetic is used to ensure your comfort
- The tooth is reshaped slightly to make room for the crown
- Impressions or digital scans are taken to ensure a precise fit
Temporary Crown (if needed)
You’ll receive a temporary crown to protect your tooth while the final crown is being made (if not using same-day tech)
Crown placement
- Your custom crown is bonded securely to your tooth
- Final adjustments are made to ensure a comfortable, natural bite
